                             THE IMPORTANCE OF CHRIST

Colossians 1:15 – 23 15 No one can see God, but Jesus Christ is exactly like him.  He ranks higher than everything that has been made. 16  … All things were made through Christ and for Christ.  17 … all things continue because of him.  18 He is the head of the body, which is the church.  Everything comes from him. “So in all things Jesus has First Place. 19-20 God was pleased for all of himself to live in Christ. … through Christ,  God has brought all things back to himself … God made peace through the blood of Christ’s death on the cross. 21-22  At one time you were separated from God.  … But now God has made you his friends again.  He did this through Christ’s death in the body so that  he (Jesus) might bring you into God’s presence as people who are holy, with no wrong, and with nothing of which God can judge you guilty. 23  This will happen if you continue strong and sure in your faith.  You must not be moved away from the hope brought to you by the Good News….

Eph 6:10  “Finally, be strong in the Lord and in his great power.”    13 That’s why you need to put on God’s full armor.  … you will be able to stand strong.  And when you have finished the whole fight,  you will still be standing.” (14-18)

2 Tim 1:7 “God did not give us a spirit that makes us afraid but a spirit of power and love and self-control.”

Ps 27:1 “… The LORD protects my life.  So why should I be afraid?”

Ps 29:11 The LORD gives strength to his people;  the LORD blesses his people with peace.”

Ps 31:24 “All you who put your hope in the LORD  be strong and brave.”         (Ps 73:23-28)

Ps 118:14    “The LORD gives me strength and a song.  He has saved me.”

Remember   Mat 22:29  Jesus speaking:  “You don’t understand, because you don’t know what the Scriptures say,  and you don’t know about the power of God.”    (Paul’s prayer  Eph 1:19)

2 Cor 12:9-10    “… When you are weak,  my power is made perfect in you.”

Isa 41:9  “So don’t worry, because I am with you.  … I will make you strong and will help you…

2 Thes 3:3 “ But the Lord is faithful and will give you strength and will protect you ….  5 “May the Lord lead your hearts into God’s love and Christ’s patience.”

Phil 4:13 “I can do all things through Christ,  because he gives me strength.”
