JAMES 1

Micah 6:8 The LORD …..  he has told you what he wants from you: do what is right to other people, love being kind to others, and live humbly, obeying your God.

Gal 5:13   The whole law is made complete in this one command: “Love your neighbor as you love yourself.”   

John 6:28-29  The people asked Jesus, “What are the things God wants us to do?”   Jesus answered,   “The work God wants you to do is this: Believe in the One he sent.”

JAMES  CHAPTER 1

James 1:1 (ncv)  To all of God’s people who are scattered everywhere in the world:  Greetings.

Faith and Wisdom

James 1:2-4   … when you have many kinds of troubles, you should be full of joy… (Romans 12:12 , 2 Cor 4:7-10 ,  1 Peter 1:5-9 )

James 1:5-8  … if any of you needs wisdom, you should ask God for it. … you must believe … (Proverbs 3:13-18)

True Riches

James 1:9-11  Believers who are poor should take pride that God has made them spiritually rich. Those who are rich should take pride that God has shown them that they are spiritually poor.  (Heb 10:35-36)

Temptation is not from God

James 1:12-18  When people are tempted and still continue strong, they should be happy.  God decided to give us life through the word of truth so we might be the most important of all the things he made.          (Romans 6:16-18)

Listening and Obeying

James 1:19-25  .. truly happy people are those who carefully study God’s perfect law …. and continue to study it…. they obey what God’s teaching says.   (Eph 6:17)

The True Way to Worship God

James 1:26-27  Religion that God accepts as pure and without fault is this:  caring for orphans or widows who need help, and keeping yourself free from the world’s evil influence.
