THE SCRIPTURES GIVE US PATIENCE AND ENCOURAGEMENT – WE CAN HAVE HOPE

1 Peter 1:13 So prepare your minds for service and have self-control.  All your hope should be for the gift of grace that will be yours when Jesus Christ is shown to you.

1 Peter 5:12 .. I wrote to encourage you and to tell you that this is the true grace of God. Stand strong in that grace.

Remember:                         THE IMPORTANCE OF CHRIST

Col 1:18 In all things Jesus has First Place.  19 God was pleased for all of himself to live in Christ.

Col 1:20         God made peace through the blood of Christ’s death on the cross.

Col 1:22  God has made you his friends again.  He did this through Christ’s death in the body

Eph 2:13 .. you who were far away from God are brought near through the blood of Christ’s death. 14  Christ himself is our peace 16 Christ did all this with his death on the cross.

2 Cor 5:18  Through Christ, God made peace between us and himself…   19  God was in Christ, making peace between the world and himself.

Rom 5:1 Since we have been made right with God by our faith, we have peace with God.  This happened through our Lord Jesus Christ,  2 who through our faith has brought us into that blessing of God’s grace….  (vr 2 nlt)

1 Cor 1:30 (nlt) God has united you with Christ Jesus.  For our benefit God made him to be wisdom itself.  Christ made us right with God;  he made us pure and holy, and he freed us from sin.   31*

 THIS IS ENCOURAGING STUFF

Romans 4:5 People cannot do any work that will make them right with God.  So they must trust in him, who makes even evil people right in his sight.  Then God accepts their faith, and that makes them right with him.         6-8

Romans 9:16  It does not, therefore, depend on man’s desire or effort, but on God’s mercy.

2 Cor 10:18  For it is not the one who commends himself who is approved, but the one whom the Lord commends.

Heb 3:12-14     be careful…  “encourage each other every day”   We all share in Christ if we keep till the end the sure faith we had in the beginning.

1 Thes 5:14 .. Encourage the people who are afraid.  Help those who are weak.  Be patient…..

Col 3:15 Let the peace that Christ gives control your thinking, because you were called together in one body to have peace.  Always be thankful.

Rom 15:13 I pray that the God who gives hope will fill you with much joy and peace while you trust in him.  Then your hope will overflow by the power of the Holy Spirit.       (Rom 5:5)
