“THOSE WHO ARE RIGHT WITH ME WILL LIVE BY FAITH”
Heb 11:1 Faith is being sure of what we hope for and certain of what we do not see.
Heb 11:6 Without faith no one can please God. Anyone who comes to God must believe that he is real and that he rewards those who truly want to find him.
Remember
Romans 4:5 People cannot do any work that will make them right with God. So they must trust in him, who makes even evil people right in his sight. Then God accepts their faith, and that makes them right with him. 6-8
Romans 9:16 It does not, therefore, depend on man’s desire or effort, but on God’s mercy.
Titus 3:5 he saved us because of his mercy. It was not because of good deeds we did to be right with him. 8 This teaching is true, and I want you to be sure the people understand these things. (3-11)
Heb 3:12-14 be careful that none of you has an evil, unbelieving heart that will turn you away from the living God. But encourage each other every day while it is called “today” We all share in Christ if we keep till the end the sure faith we had in the beginning.
Heb 12:1(ncv) We are surrounded by a great cloud of people whose lives tell us what faith means.
Last week:
John 4:46-53 … a certain royal official The man took Jesus at his word
Luke 7:1-10 Jesus was amazed and said “I have not found such great faith even in Israel.”
Luke 17:11 Ten men had leprosy Jesus said “Go show yourselves to the priests”
Mark 5:25-34 woman with the blood issue “If I can just touch his clothes…. Jesus said to her, “Daughter, your faith has healed you. Go in peace ….
…..people whose lives tell us what faith means:
Heb 11:32 Gideon, Barak, Samson, Jephthah, David, Samuel, and the prophets
Remember: Romans 15:4 Everything that was written in the past was written to teach us. The Scriptures give us patience and encouragement so that we can have hope.
What the Scriptures says about these two men whose lives tell us what faith means: Jephthah Judges 10:6 – 12:7 Gideon Judges 6:1 – 8:32
